To celebrate this festive season, we created these cheerful, sleepy animal print ornaments, that will bring a cosy, joyful vibe into your homes. They are made by transferring our hand-drawn creatures and branches using heat.
They are sold in sets of three and are such a wonderful gift for a friend or family member to share some festive joy with, in time for them to decorate their homes with a little reminder of your love before Christmas. They are minimal but still bring a sense of cosiness and a feeling of home into any room – perfect for garlands or a Christmas tree.
Set One of the print ornaments includes a sleeping squirrel, mouse, and hedgehog.
A gorgeous set of little woodland creatures curled up warmly between garlands and branches. This is a thoughtful gift for a loved one to remind them of that warm, comforting love you share between you, and a gentle decoration to bring some festive cheer into their rooms. Plus, they have an amazing Christmas scent!
Are they sleeping or hibernating? Did you know that out of the three only hedgehogs and certain mice species hibernate, whilst squirrels don’t?
‘Hedgehogs usually hibernate from October/November through to March/April. Research has shown that each individual is likely to move nesting sites at least once during this period and so can sometimes be seen out and about. During mild winters hedgehogs can remain active well into November and December.’
If you want to read more about hedgehogs and our source, you can read this page HERE.
Whereas squirrels and some mice species don’t hibernate but go into a torpid state in which their metabolism slows down and body temperature decreases. So they are less active during the colder weeks/months, prioritising finding a warm nook and looking for food when awake.
For mice, it depends on the species. A wood mouse will enter a state of torpor, but a hazel dormouse will hibernate.
If you want to learn more about the behaviour of squirrels check HERE. If you’re curious about what mice species hibernate and which don’t, we recommend searching them up on the Wildlife Trust website. We have referenced our information from both.
The template of each image of scented ornaments is designed and hand-drawn by us and then printed.
Each scented ornament has a dimension of around 7.5cm, the perfect size to hang on a Christmas tree or a garland.
Place them wherever you want, but away from a source of heat, e.g. a radiator, as they are made from wax.
Christmas LED lights are cold and perfectly safe for these wax ornaments.
Scent randomly chosen from two available: Mince Pies or Winter Spices Fine.
These scented print ornaments are not wax melts; use them for decoration purposes only.
The time of completion is 3-4 working days.
